Quite a few interesting games this week. Big focus on the battle at the top between the team that has scored the most vs the team that has conceded the least whilst also scoring freely should be a cracker.

Putney will get their first loss of the season.

Dragons will just edge a depleted North Ryde team.

Pats and Penno will be a draw

West Penno to drop points

Woodies to edge Tigers who may continue to drop points for the rounds after

EEW v STA - What a cracker of a game this will be. EEW, coming off the back of an uncharacteristic absent performance against rovers, will be looking to make amends and keep up with the teams at the top end of the table. On the other hand, STA seemingly a changed outfit have only lost 1(again against WRR) and only conceeded 4 goals in 5 games. They look to be back to their rock solid ways but any game away at Boronia will be an arm wrestle. Spectators, don't expect pretty football but it will be entertaining! Prediction 2-1 EEW

NR v MQD - A game that could very well define the season for both teams. Dragons slow to start this year with their only win an insane 6-5 goalfest against normo. otherwise some boring draws have been their only points putting them well and truely towards the bottom of the pile. Will this be yet another season of "what could have been?" or will they build some momentum starting with a hapless North Ryde squad? Hapless, hopeless, unlucky? Hard to really argue results for the newcomers this season. 5 games, 5 losses, 21 goals shipped, at least 4 each game. It's been a hard, hard welcome for the boys in yellow and blue so far. The jump from SL to Prems seems a bit too big. But the best thing about being dead last is there's only one direction to go and that is up! Some positives are that they can score against the big boys, putting a few past most teams they've come up against but will their leaky defence let them down yet again? Prediction? YES 4-2 MQD

PUT v WRR - From a struggling ex-SL team to one that is having a field day in Prems! Putney have talked the talk and also, so far, most definitely walked the walk. Undefeated and taking points off every team they've faced so far (including BOTH of last years Grand Finalists) They may be fast becoming the new EEW as top grubs of the league but wins are wins and they sit poised to take top spot should they nab a result this weekend. Unfortunately top spot is held by their opponents WRR who have had an almost perfect start to the season (the only blemish being a gritty 2-2 draw away with Normo who nabbed a late equaliser so I've heard) Having lived in WPH's shadow for the last few seasons the boys from Meadowbank look to extend their lead with a win putting them potentially 5 points clear should results go their way. Absolutely the match of the round and will surely be one for the spectators. Prediction 2-1 WRR

PATS v PEN - If the previous match was battle of the top, this match is battle of the bottom. Pats have started 2024 in a very similar fashion to 2023 with losses aplenty. Their only joy so far was a grubby come-from-behind win against cellar dwellers North Ryde. With the lofty heights of a grand final appearence in their 1st year in Prems still in their mind the St Pats boys will be sorely disappointed so far and will be aching to turn things around with a win. Not too dissimilarly Penno have also had a shocker of a start sitting on equal 2nd last with their opponents. The last few seasons have been a battle for the green machine, a far cry from yesteryear. Can they prove the haters wrong or reside themselves to another year of relegation battles? Prediction 2-2

WPH v NMH - Last but definitely not least we have a very interesting match up at Campbell on Saturday. Traditionally a tough match up for both sides with West Penno desperately wanting to keep touch with WRR and PUT after their tight loss to EEW put them in slightly unfamiliar territory on the league table. To most, 3rd would be acceptable but the reigning premiers/champions will not be satisfied with anything other than top spot. Looking to spoil the chance and to make their way firmly into the top 4 is a somewhat inconsistent Normo squad. 2 wins, 2 losses and the only team to take points off WRR so far they have shown potential but their usual stalwart, impenetrable defence has let them down in the first 5 games shipping a crazy 16 goals. Will WPH do what they seemingly always do and rise back to the top or will Normo plug their gaps and shut the Campbell curse down? Presiction 3-1 WPH

Exactly! I'm sick of young hooligans talking shit, they can't tell their arse from their mouth. I'm a big fan of West Penno, however I am a bigger fan of football! The forum is a great place in which I find solace but recently it had been used in bad spirit by disgruntled fans.
