Saw this on the footballnsw website. Is this the same guy who coached the Zella's last season? Apologies if it's not.

West City FC (11/10/11)
West City FC (Polonia/Chopin Park) require a Reserve Grade Coach with a minimum Senior Licence or equivalent.

You will be working under our highly experienced Head Coach Danny Abboud.

All expressions of interest please Danny Abboud on 0422 752 269.

He left cause the current President/ vise president and secretary have been over powered by a new board. The new board doesnt care about SL and just wants it to be a family friendly club with no growth or look to the future.
Thats why all the good Zella players have left and played for other premier league clubs previously and now it going to continue, they will be known as the great junoir developers for all the other clubs to take there best cause there is no where for them to move up to.

Dissapionting.

Fairfield had all the money, all the top coaches and players(both Marshall and Danny) although not at the same time, and then one day went belly up.

If you want a good structured club, having Marshall and Danny are the right way to go, but how long can you have 2 top coaches on your payroll for?

some people are with out afair bit of money deposits for overseas trips, the team kitty is only minor compared to that.
the club had nothing to do with the overseas trip.
just a shame there are people like this out there.

In relation to the club giving us the money well i highly doubt it they are a small family club and the people at the top who supported the SL didnt have any other support from the board thats the reason we lost our coach they dont care about a pathway for the future kids just care about little jimmy banging in own goals every saturday.

training and trials have been going for the last month.
they have signed so he is not taking them for a ride.

wrote on 25-Oct-11 21:05

Oh so its safe to assume a few of the boys who went over must be under 20s since it's "under 20s" as opposed to a reserve team?

I remember a while back one of the tricks was to get players to sign a "code of conduct" and tell them it's a contract. I think Brumbies got in trouble for this when a few players ended up teamless after being told they weren't in the squad. Plus footballnsw wouldn't accept contracts until the new year would they?

Wouldn't surprise me if the line "what contract you signed?" was thrown around when trialing for some state league teams.

Spill the beans, are you one of them Rozella?!

Danny is up to his old tricks...

Frustrated that he couldn't even make the Grand final of a teir 2 GHFA league, he believes he is too good for the local league and goes back to the State League.

A team that was together for quite a few years gets pulled apart to satisfy one mans ego.

What people don't understand that loyalty is not apart of his characteristics. He will spit those players out quicker than he took them when someone better comes along.

Jezza - You should have a chat to the boys involved to make them aware of this!

Word up
wrote on 05-Nov-11 21:04

HAHAHAH Word your a git.

A team together for a few years.
Lets get the facts out there

davey, creasy, wilson, carter and a few others playing reserve grade came from AA9.
Yes there were AA1 team that made up 4-5 spots in first grade one of which has left, (dane) Jimmy and bowey are 38-39 respectivly were always talking retirement.
Jason & yannick were recruited by danny.
Amrit signed on 2 weeks before the season started never new any one previously.
Marcus the keeper boweys brother had never played with this team before.
Jack & connor are 17yrs and jimmy commits recruited these two from his school.(they were never staying more than 1 year)
This team was brought together 6 weeks before the season started.
when i turned up to the first session there was 8 players i thought the team would never get off the ground.
to be winning the comp after 12 games and to only loose 2 gamesin the year in the comp is remarkable.
To say that danny is frustrated he couldnt make the grandfinal of second tier GHFA league is laughable.
This was the clubs first season ever in SL We had 9 AA9 players in our sqaud.
AND NO Im not Danny which has been stated on here before, I AM A CURRENT ZELLA which is dissapionted my Team has left along with Danny.
I spose it shows that all the bullshit that is written about players not liking him is rubbish considering they all followed him out the door.
So Word you no nothing about the history of this team obviously....
Just Another ego behind your keyboard, i hope im not running around beside you in a Zella jersey next year.
GO play pocket billyards.

Guys I am proudly able to announce the new coach for Glenhaven's Super League squad, Mr Mike Bassett. Mike brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and we are that with him at the helm we will be able to challenge for promotion to Premier League. Mr Bassett was given a tour of the world class facilities at Glenhaven and Holland Oval before signing a 2 year contract.
During the press conference with took place after the official signing of documents Mr Bassett became agitated with the attitude shown towards him by the large crowd of journalists present and when quizzed about his preferred playing style and tactics for the team Mr Bassett responded with "Four Four F***ing Two."

wrote on 11-Dec-11 15:00

Chris had already stepped aside at Lea you idiot - get your facts right. The club has fucked up PL and SL for years - which is why the PL/SL distanced itself from the club.

CT learned the hard way, by allowing that dope "Super Mario" Germano and his cronies to get close to us again. Germano and his mates on the sideline were the worst part of Roselea SL, and his ridiculous behaviour at our game v. Mac Uni was an embarrassment to the club and his family.

The club admin is easily the worst joke in the association. The only thing Chris did wrong, was allow the club to interfere, and let us down with advertising for players.

So many told us they had left because of the dopes running the club - and they left before CT.

I hear they have a cracking squad at North Rocks, and some of those guys were the state league guys Chris had been chasing for two years. He finally conviced them to come, and Roselea miss out because of a handful of idiots on the committee.

Your loss. If I wasn't playing with mates at another club, I would have gone with him too.

Roselea is a strong junior club with no idea about senior soccer, and people are starting to realise it.

Whatever it was it is gone from the league.... for the better. Lea can rebuild now after all the nonsense of the last two seasons with their wally of a coach. It's over now and time to look forward to next season.

Some super tips from a super tipster for next season:
i) Hawks to snatch the title from Normo
ii) A very handy WRR outfit to step up this season
iii) NER to come back into title contention
iv) St Pats to cause plenty of upsets
v) GLH to both be ridiculously good and shockingly bad within the space for a week.

Normo will be the title favorites as they were last year, but that doesnt guarentee anything. If they don't turn up like they didn't half of last season they will stay in SL. Actually, the only way they will get up is if they turn up to the GHFA AGM and vote for their 2 up 2 down system.

Hawks will be the suprise of 2012, with Glenhaven and Lea to fight out for the wooden spoon.

"...The only thing that Chris did wrong, was to let the club to interfere..."

Why did 2 lots of his "third grade" refuse to ever be coached by him again?

As far as advertising for players, CT knows all the State League, African League and what ever other league players you wish to mention, being such an outstanding player agent as he is, just ask him!!!!!

All the players that I know that have left Roselea is because of CT, Aaron Kidd being the classic example, going to Ravens and helping them to win Premier League.

Fact, and please feel free to comment Aaron, the whole reason you left Roselea is that you would never been seen dead playing under Chris Tanner.

The final thing I wish to say in regard to your post is that since you have not gone to North Rocks, and have actually gone to another Club, at least you have given yourself a chance of not receiving a 3rd wooden spoon!!!!!

Totally agree with Soothsayer. We need more banter and less bitching.

Also agree with Tobin. Normo are favorites again which means they will NOT win the comp this year. I think YMCA or possibly Hawks will just pip them to it.

Don't know a thing about St Pats but judging from other teams that have come up to SL they will not come last.

I think last place will be reserved for HFC this year. They were starting to fall apart last year and were nowhere near the 1st grade side they were in the past.

Lea to avoid the spoon with a new coach, attitude and set of players. Maybe they might even become likeable on this forum again!

Roselea Football Club Coach
wrote on 14-Dec-11 08:05

Dear all,

Roselea are a very strong club and have been for years. It was dissapointing to see the club go through a very tough two years and the level in which the ordeal was taken to was something that all clubs can learn from. The issues have been resolved and yes, some people have left with a bad taste in their mouth, however the club itself is in a very strong postion and hope to return to the competitive levels it was at just over 2 years ago.

I have put forward a very strong case and plan to the club and they have agreed that it is a different direction and formula to my pre decessor.

Roselea have already started buidling a very strong squad for next year, and yes I can confirm that 4 of it first grade squad have returned from 3 years ago and are building a very strong foundation. We will always welcome new players, and we will always promote youth, but i can tell you the team will have a VERY different look from the last 2 years and we are a lot stronger.

Regards

Coach

And "Lionel" ( i thought you had to be at least quick to be compared to messi) obando was drunk when he went off, shit happens. Sorry Tanner but it's time for you to write your own eulogy and say goodbye to this forum. hope you and your boys Have fun punching on in the granville comp. your antics ARE going to get your head smashed in.

By the context and content of the e-mail it sounds like that fuckwit Speranza.

I heard Lionel Obando went for a kick, but we know he thinks Germano is a knob (and told him so), so that will be an interesting scenario.

LEA are still a long way off numbers wise, and if they are counting on a few of the Rockers who went for a kick, they'd better think again.

Once the season gets closer, and the drink drivers hit the Harold West car park - farewell Germano United, because this year I am told some parents are ringing the police due to the president and his friends smoking and drinking around the kids as they come off the park.

cant just be the coach of the last two years or the coach before that & something must be wrong at the club

I was there for several seasons and watched the rubbish go on

over 50 players have put their names down at North Rocks and there were 30 of them there today some more 2011 Roslea boys are going to Beecroft to join the guys from last year one to NER one to Eastwood StAndrews

players that have failed there and at other clubs are returning because Roselea is the only club where they will have a chance as most of the 5-6 players who have stayed are rezzies at this stage Blake may get a run in the firsts as his mum is the registrar club will get better when the president goes & he knows what I think of him

Good luck to you at North Rocks, don't understand why you stayed at Roselea for so long since it was so bad and none of it was the Coaches fault.

Hope you have aquainted yourself with the North Rocks President as well as you did with Roselea's, as you sound like an expert that knew the President well at Roselea, since the blame for everything fell on him.

Have you registered on the Granville Forum yet? Better let them know what a formable outfit they are up against there, because just remember, this is the GHFA forum and you are no longer part of that Association. So please take your dirty laundry there and see if they care.

I am sure the whole Granville Association are shaking in there boots at your arrival, what with all the ex State League players, African Cup players and the like that CT has recruited.

Tell me, with over 50 players on your books, is CT going to give the standard one paragraph email advising those that are cut? Another great bit of PR to help advance the "tannerlution".

I have one thing to say to you Zorba, there is a saying that suits you well, I don't know weather you have heard it before but it goes like this "you can't put brains in statues", after all that is what the Greeks are famous for, their statues and you are Zorba?

Thank you Rocky, and thanks for the notice of the above posts.

I am honoured that one idiot needs to keep researching me (obviously in the wrong places)

Of course the handful of gutless wonders like the Fireman Sam, the drink-driving pierced midget, Super Mario, Neville Speranza, Serena Williams, the Dope Brothers, Heart and Soul, and the few other Roselea nobodies and ex-Roselea nobodies who write the above drivel, are welcome to come and have a look at the "promised Tannerlution" at North Rocks. Over 40 players already, including the state leaguers we promised, and more coming. Meanwhile, Roselea keep recruiting reserve graders so we are told,

We have kept our major sponsor, signed new sponsors, linked with an academy and continued with our planned progress, unfortunately now at another club.

Like a Roselea member (lady) said this morning "it's a shame we don't have people who understand football like you". She is taking her son to another club. Sad, but that's what happens in district football.

I and the boys who left have no ill feeling towards our friends at Roselea.

To my friends at LEA, BEE, NER, THL, GLH, NHF and the like, thanks for the memories.

By the way, when is the next hit-out at the Rocky's, love to be there.

Love Rocky's comments "We have games booked with Leichhardt, Thornleigh, North Epping, Nelson Bay - no room for SL wooden spooners", are there not 20 of these "wooden spooners" in your squad? I suppose you will not have a squad to play these lot since you need to leave 20 out!

Will miss you dearly at Roselea, all your wise advice, encouragment for the juniors, comments like "you soft cocks" went a long way!

Enjoy your short stay at the Rocky's, I am sure they will appreciate all your positive comments & assured enthusiasm!

Be sure you come back on here in September next year to let us know what a great job you have done as Manager of Premier Leage at North Rocks, since you were sick of driving the bus and getting 2 wooden spoons in a row as your last stint as coach!

Tell me, what are you going to do if you come last again? I guess this time you have one further option. You can either blame the President, blame the Committee & now you can also blame the Coach!

All set-up perfectly in case of failure!

New to super league, having previously played with glenhaven and hawks juniors before moving to the very successful kenthurst 21's (champions of champions in under 18's and 2 premierships) - the comment about glenhaven not developing their juniors is spot on. I played there from under 8's-12's and we always had a 4th or 5th placed side, why? too much interest from parents who attempted to manipulate coaches - bruce fraser in particular was an awful coach. in the end a few of us went to hawks and found great success winning 3 minor premierships and 2 premierships in four years, factions occurred again then kenthurst now back to hawkies and it looks like a big season! but yes many would happily stay at glenhaven if the right structures were in place...
