Better promotion and coverage of the PL/SL competition

Over the past couple of weekends, different associations across Sydney had their local top divisions (ie Premier League or AAM1's) Finals Series/Grand Finals live streamed across platforms for everyone to watch and promoting their competition.

I went out to watch a couple different grand finals at both Bernie Mullane & Lynwood (Hills & Macarthur) and NWSF are seriously lacking towards promoting and supporting the game for PL/SL in our association...not just that, other associations even livestream their competitions' "Match of the Round", and/or most of the regular season matches also. It also has more people supporting and following the competition respectively, as well as more supporters going to the games.

Question is...why can't NWSF do the same when other associations have easily done so? Don't say "ohhh Covid this and that" - as it hasn't prevented the different competitions across Sydney from doing it, no excuses!

Couldnt agree more, plenty of room for improvement in the area of promotion of PL by NWSF.

NWSF too focused on the womens comps these days. PL/SL are just an afterthought at the moment.

To be fair, the Womens PL received little promotion during the season as well.

This is why

Curious to know, before levelling all these questions to NWSFA, what does each of your clubs do to promote your own PL? I know some have Facebook pages such as WPH, but what genuine promotions do each of the clubs do?... and I mean genuine, weekly whatever?

Most clubs in the comp are either promoting it through their social media platforms and websites and some even have their PL squad members doing it as well...I say that to make it a much bigger name of a competiton, the head of our associations should be doing more to promote it, I think the clubs have done more than what they should be - now it's time for NWSF to step up their game as other associations are evolving at a quicker rate in terms of making their top divisions a more known competition in the local community.

How would you realistically like the association to better promote PL/SL ?

Here are a few of mine for a start:

Pre-season Preview of PL/SL clubs on social media

Weekly updated PL/SL fixtures/tables on social media

Weekly updated PL/SL top gola scorers on social media

If we can get a list of achievable things then they can be sent through to NWSF.

Serious answers only.

How about a match of the round livestream / recording and uploaded to the website / YouTube page.

Association level rewards / prizes for golden boot / best defence / fair play (lowest cards) etc

social media interviews of players / coaching staff (potentially only for semis or the GF but maybe a pre-season "around the grounds" style.

- Match of the round live streamed and played at CP1/2 or PEN (for home team being further north).

- Goal of the round. Teams can surely have someone record and send in clips of goals scored.

- Top scorer award at end of season to be awarded to player on grand final day. Referees to record scorers in DRIBL.

- Match official/s to give 3-2-1 votes each game for player of season.

- Regular round previews/reviews on social media

Ouch thats a harsh call, the referee is not a secretary, does anyone go up and check with the ref after the game to ensure the correct goal scorers were noted to be put on the sheet ?  When I was refereeing I had certain team managers come to me after the game and check, in the heat of the moment or bodies crossing over in front when the goal is scored it can be not recorded corrrectly, however I normally asked who was the scorer and their number, it is not hard to do, sometimes referees dont give a crap because players and teams dont either------------------------------------------

Nice deflection. Its the REFS job, not ours. By all means ask the players if your not sure but don't pass the blame

what are you smoking? Not a secretary? We're not asking you to take notes of the whole game, a goal is literally the most important thing in the game how do you not record who scored it? Glad you've retired if that's your attitude

Can we get away from ref bashing on this thread?

I saw the premiers from Manly PL & Northern Suburbs PL play off last weekend for a Challenge Cup (or something like that). maybe an annual NWSF PL premiers vs Hills PL premiers game either after GF or before start of next season. Might shut up Keithy.

Another entitled keyboard warrior, probably how you play as well, read the content in the notes you flop, I asked  the players as thety ran back to the their positions after scoring of a goal if I could not clearly identify the scorer at the time, who was the scorer and most knew (Some didn't if there as there could have been a deflection or own goal) and the scorer would normally advise anyway, I rarely got that wrong as I was a damn good referee in Premier League for over 10 years and the previous 16 years before that in lower grades, so please don't try and tell me how to suck eggs
