Which of the 5 sides that missed finals this season+ the promoted St Pats is most likely to play finals in 2023?

Thouhts?

If Pats aren't in the top 4 they will be very close to it

Lets be honest here Mac are far and away the best footballing team in the competition how they didnt make finals is a mistery.
West Penno are great at what they do and are very hard to beat and more importantly very consistent

Just because you buy 11 players from spirit, doesn't mean you can make the finals.

They should never have been given the championship last year.

WPH could have still won it!

You mean the same WPH last year that had the season played out, may well have been fighting the relegation battle?

If we're being honest then it would have been Hawks that would have been premiers last season. WPH we're garbage last year and would have been lucky to avoid the drop

Crystal ball

Nobody has a crystal ball. Nobody knows what would have happened last year. It isn't Mac Dragons fault that the season got cut short. They were top. Anyone else could have been, but they weren't. Equally the Premiership has to have an asteroid next to it because anything could have happened.

Equally ANY talk about the championship is crazy. WPH were just getting back all their injured players and could have a late run for the four based on the quality that would have added. Hawks were certainly in the mix and a big threat, you can never say never about STA and EEW and what if Normo, Penno or West Ryde had hit form?

This year although WPH are again the team to beat in both grades, in a one off game, on the day, the unexpected can happen so don't rule out the other sides.

we've never "bought" any spirit players. Please, can't afford to buy players & it's completely against the "spirit" (pardon the pun) of the game.

if we bought players any NPL players we wouldn't have ended mid table.

WPH res finished +10 points without losing and +62 GD... could they compete in first grade?

WPH ressies

No question that WPH ressies are better than some first grade sides.

There are a number of them who have the ability to play first grade week in week out at other clubs but the squad culture is so strong they would prefer to stay together as a unit, particularly as a large number of them have come through the juniors together.

Paul Daley and his Meadowbank United (Budgies) 1978 Undefeated team, they flogged everyone, I was Goalkeeper for Normo First Grade I remember we got pumped first game 9-0 after saving 20 shots on goal and then 2nd game against them was not much better, their forward line just kept lining up, most of them were Ex State League players and Ravens were not much better, again all Ex State League players, thems were the days when it was rough and tough in Premier League.

Funnily enough Keith, that North Ryde side only got 6pts that season. All of them coming from WPH... cost us a spot in the semis that year dropping those points when literally everyone else pumped them lol. We were like Liverpool of old... taking points from the better teams and leaking them from the bottom ones lol. Ah memories.
