If they manage a result on the road they play winner of Kenthurst v Rockdale. Shaping up to be a short CoC campaign for the rovers

They would be better of forfeitting rather than driving 6 hours to get knocked out anyway

As a neutral, going off past CoC results over the years from the bush/regional teams with the home fixture, they lost frequently to away teams from the Greater Sydney Regions and have only been competitive with other bush/regional teams, because the quality of football is not as high, in comparison to the city-based teams.

But also looking at the bush/regional teams having to travel away to the Greater Sydney Regions for their fixtures, stats show that they tend to forfeit instead of travelling, unlike the teams from the Greater Sydney Regions which do travel to them.

WPH in recent seasons had their time in CoC and showed that they can compete to be the best in NSW and just missed out on a couple occassions in the Final, which is still better than others from our comp who've gone to CoC in recent years.

It's now on Rovers to show if they want it at this level and if they surprise us with some results and go further than Round 2 or 3, then it shows that they can compete with some of the best in NSW for season 2024 - but if they get booted in Round 1 of CoC against a bush/regional team...then they can take a hard look at themselves for the shit attempt.

Could be wrong and Rovers do lose on the rural trip to Griffith, but I'd say that Rovers will likely go through to Round 2.

Cheers Stats Man for the extended results over the last 10 years and glad to know we're both on the same wavelength regarding the stats for CoC. ;)

Stats prove that whoever faces bush/regional teams in CoC, they have easily progressed to the next round.

2017 - Pennant Hills 11-1 Moss Vale

2018 - Normanhurst 5-1 Yerrinbool

2023 - WPH Cherrybrook 9-0 Bowral FC

Prediction still unchanged and West Ryde will progress to Round 2..

Last time the best of NWSFA came up against the best of the Hills District it didn't end too well you Keef.

Let's see if WRR can make it 2-0 and see what excuses you can come up with afterwards.

Hills finally get a win against us in CoC. Oh well, off to 2025.

kenthurst keith is from WPH

i went to watch the game on sunday and it seemed half the wph team was sitting cheering with the kenthurst supporters. Would have thought they would be cheering on the team from their own association but maybe they had friends playing for kenthurst.

anyway, rovers came out very strong and were up 2 nil after around 5 minutes and it could have been more.

however, you could tell they severely lacked fitness as they started to drop off with about 10 to go in the first half and this is when kenthurst finally got into the game and started to create chances.

the start of the second half started off pretty even but rovers dropped off again only after about 15 minutes no longer pressing the ball and allowing the kenthurst players to turn and run at them.

kenthurst had some very skillful players playing up front and in the midfield and allowing them to run with the ball cost rovers.

was a very exciting game to watch, would have liked to see nwsf beat hills

Rovers came out of the blocks fast and Kenuthurst slow.

Some slick passing led to their 2 early goals and the bushboys looked rattled tbh

But after 10-15 mins Rovers lost all steam and let Kenthurst settle into the game and west ryde were lucky to go into the half without conceeding.

2nd half continued this trend of kenthurst rising and rovers falling off. And slowly their lead was picked off.

In the end they were outmuscled, outplayed, outran and looked a little out of their depth.

When the going got tough they didn't seem to have another gear and it ended up costing them.

Kenthurst won the Double Double in GHFA and left with all the trophies. Then went to Hills comp and won everything there before deciding to call it a day while still on top and finish with the First Grade Premiership.

You boys can say what you want but no doubt that Kenthurst was the most dominant PL squad in GHFA/Hills in last 20 years.

10 + Premierships / Championships

2 Double Doubles

GHFA Cups

Hills Cups

Only thing missed was CoC after 2 narrow losses in the GF.
