As we near the end of the regular season, what are everyones predictions??
A few key points to take in for both grades
FIRST GRADE
- West Ryde now sit 5 points clear after yesterdays results, with the Lions seemingly struggling to find any sort of consistency. Is the race over?
- Eastwood have gone under the radar in my opinion, now sitting at third pending EEW catch up game. Outside chance?
RESERVE GRADE
- Have the lions got the premiership in their hands now? Only one draw this season but against a bottom of the table side? Could they slip up? West Ryde look extremely dangerous, can never count out Penno in ressies either.
OVERALL
- First Grade: West Ryde have pretty much got the premiership in their hands I believe, lions are too inconsistent this year and can't seem to take advantage of grabbing points when they should. West Ryde look like they'll be too good, will be interesting to see results from their game the coming weekend. EEW and St Andrews I believe are also outside chances for the granny, only time will tell.
- Reserve Grade: It's hard to see Lions slipping up this advantage on the ladder, I've also heard through the grapevine that they've only got 45 minutes left against WRR after their match got abandoned at half time, and they're 1-0 up. Can never count anyone out of the granny though, WRR have got a strong reserve grade side and as do Penno. From what I've heard though, it sounds like it'll only be a grand final for ressies, so imagining it'll be WPH v WRR.
Let me know your thoughts on this and other topics.
It's being a difficult season due to the weather conditions and quite stop/start, I hope for good weather here on in, and maybe teams who haven't being performing to quite the standard will find form on the way into finals with some more consistent games now.
Rovers have the title in the bag for 1st grade, no catching them now. WPH will have to settle for 2nd best this year.
Ressies still up for grabs depending now the 1 v 2 game goes.
My tip is Rovers for the double this season, they've been there abouts for the last few years and now with west penno showing cracks it's their time to shine!
Yep the top of the table is pretty much settled. The remaining 3 spots of the top 4 could still change a bit with quite a few teams able to reach the finals.
More interestingly though is the relegation battle. Last night North Ryde spanked Pats 4-0 putting them only 1 point behind them with the exact same for/against.
The next 3 games according to Dribl for each are:
North Ryde vs Putney (8th), Penno (5th), Normo (7th)

North Ryde can only get a max of 6 points, they just aren't beating that Putney super team I'm sorry
At this rate Putney need 1 win to be safe. If north Ryde pick up a win they *should* be safe- that is, of course if St Pats don't pick up any more points which seems very likely at this rate

Close
wrote on 24-Jul-24 14:33If Putney lose all three next matches and St Pats and North Ryde go on a tear they have a chance to be relegated as well.
From what it seems, North Ryde have gained some form and confidence and it is gonna be a tight battle for the relegation spot.
