Title race is back on

Our striker was  through on goal with 5 minutes to go and WPH player rugby tackled him to the ground. Last man and sent off. Door dash did the exact same thing last year against us in the same fixture. Absolute grubs and celebrating winning a game in that fashion, no class

Match Report

WPH came out firing, creating multiple chances in the first 20 minutes of the match with WRR having no response other than a single counter attack which was blazed over the bar from an acute angle.
With a formation change, WRR came into the game in the next 25 minutes, with both sides creating chances, the game settling into a rhythm. No huge chances created in this period of the game.

In the second half, the game came to life. WRR made a few close chances and started getting on top with WPH unable to create many chances. The game was played in midfield and transition, with both teams using the width of the pitch to transition with space. A contentious 50/50 no-call on a tackle led to WPH playing a direct ball over the top that was smashed over the out of position keeper down the middle of the goal - a well taken goal though arguments ensued over a foul in the build-up.

After this point, WPH created next to no chances, with WRR playing to equalise. WRR fouled right on the edge of the box, with the referee awarding a free kick - the veo might reveal that it should have been a penalty. Multiple chances to tap in a goal were presented to WRR but they were unable to take them. First a cutback from the byline that was blazed wide, a goalmouth scramble from a corner resulted in 2 tap in attempts which were missed or cleared. A through-ball caught the keeper rushing out and being chipped, with the ball missing the goal by a foot. And a through ball which the WRR player was (softly) dragged back leading to a red card as the last man. WRR peppered through chances but were unable to convert, with WPH defending their 1 goal lead well. All ended with WPH hanging on to their lead after only creating a handful of chances in the second half of the match.

Oh well

Sounds more like a half of missed opportunities for rovers more than anything else. No one to blame but themselves.

Winners find a way to win. Just goes to show why that squad have been so dominant the last couple years. The lions are still the lions

Rovers coughing up points like their going out of fashion. Should have had the comp wrapped up by now but have now massively opened the door to both west penno and tigers.

Then come on the forum blaming everything but their own poor performances. Maybe the rumour about them being choke artists is true

Sounds like he got what he deserved which was a straight red. Did what needed to be done to see out the win.
Whinging about "class" when you play for WRR is also funny and if you don't see the irony of your comment it makes it even funnier

“Absolute grubs”

Reads "Absolute grubs"......

Checks match info on Dribl.

Sees the red card for DOGSO. Notes 1 yellow card for WPH and 2 for WRR.

Concludes that WRR are struggling being the Fox rather than the Hounds and don't have the balls that WPH have shown in the past when the target is on their back.

Further concludes WRR are still pretenders.

The Real Grubs

Class?! Rovers are the biggest bunch of grubs going around. When they're winning they're saints but as soon as the going gets tough, or they go behind, or it's a close game they turn into a bunch of panelbeaters
Not just trash talk either, Dribl receipts don't lie!

Every team acts the same way depending on game state, its like the pot calling the kettle black. If you are afraid to take a hard challenge if required, its very different to going out of your way to injure or be grubs. We aren't all Big Reds or Kenthurst Keiths

I hope those West Penno boys worked some of the rovers song into their team song. It baffles me how rovers lose shit games and choke big leads and then have the audacity to sing "who are ya" and "the other team is silent" when they scrape past relegation scrapping teams.

this season rovers you are going home with NOTHING, as per fuckin usual.

grubs

Speak for yourself! The bottom of the table is a bitter place to be, keep hating!

Yeah we've dropped points but how can you say choke when so has everyone else? West penno lost to normo and STA and drew with Putney. EEW have lost against dragons and penno and drawn with north Ryde and pats.

Mark my words, we will win all our remaining games, the other will inevitably drop points and all the other teams will be silent when we win the comp!

WHO ARE YA?!?

I'm a fan! Rovers will be premiers! This is our year, forget about Dragons we're going to easily dispatch eew this weekend and then get our revenge on west penno to extend the gap at the top!
