Word has it only premier league will be playing this weekend.

If the super league comp is not completed, then the season is void for both supers and premier league

how can you have promotion/relegation if one of the two comps doesn't finish their season?

So how are they gonna work ressies out later?

you watch the weak teams play first grade in ressies...

i dont understand

To be honest, just when we started to praise the NWSFA last weekend for having a plan on the Monday for wet weather, we get this rubbish of playing only one grade.

What is the rational there?, don't catch up the washed out game?

Because if they plan to play this on a double header weekend or later on in the season, most of the struggling squads will end up playing their first grade in ressies....

I don't understand whoever thought it's a good idea to play a 16/3 game on Penno before a Super League Game. Do what other associations do, Can the round and start after Easter or Play PL/SL like you did last weekend.

A big up yours to all the clubs with strong squads.

This weekend isn't about squad management over 2 games, its a level playing field. Ludicrous, disgraceful decision

I do agree that it's strange that they decided to only play first grade games

But you can't say other age groups and grades don't deserve to play

We all pay fees

They could have played the normal first and reserves and spread the game onto weeknights as it's not like teams were gonna be training with all this rain and next week is off anyway

I wonder what they're gonna do with the makeup ressies games

PLAY PL AND SL MIDWEEK FFS

joke
wrote on 08-Apr-22 10:18

I wouldve thought it would be 18/1's or 21/1's at 9/11am then sl/pl after that 1/3pm- 5/7pm across the 3-4 grounds on Saturday and Sunday.

whos idea was it having an Under 13s game at 11am in the morning then a 35/1's game on at 7pm.

nwsf punishing squads with depth

Who gives a fuck if you pay fees. The top level should play, the other teams should filter down.

That is life. We are in a world which feels that we should all be nice and fair, everyone gets a trophy. FFS What is happening to football in this country.

No wonder we didnt make the world cup! It's more about keeping people who pay happy.....

Hang on .... it's back to the old NSL days - whoever pays the most plays.

What a gee up.

If you want priority and think you're so good and important go play state league

We're playing local park footy just like everyone else in nwsfa

you can come on and say that and while you are correct, we haven't had a complete competition for the last 2 years.

which means promotion/relegation has been frozen for 2 years. We have poor St Pats stuck in SL when they should really be up in PL.

So if PL is meant to be the top division in the association, why wouldnt they get priority rather than a division 3 team for under 16s.

Like this is how dumb it is, rather than play the PLR, SLR or U21/1 comp they play 12/2 and 16/3,

But don't worry, they play all the womens games that are not division 1:

16/2,14/2,10/2,10/3,18/2,16/2

Like seriously. what a joke.

For the integrity of the competition, cancel all PL and SL, play them on TUE/THUR on synthetics and play the rest of the association.

Hang on, who owns the leases to the synthetic pitches? Not the clubs buddy, the Association.

So if they want it to happen, they can.

worst decision was merging with the women's assoc... the mens have got nothing out of it... have a good look there's no more "men's" comps, only 'mixed' and 'womens'. should have remained as ghfa

Women’s football
wrote on 09-Apr-22 07:08

I know right......

how is it that women football play more divisions than men's?

don't we all pay the same rego fees?

Reality of the world we live in
wrote on 09-Apr-22 15:12

There is no need to be sexist, but i don't see the mens game moving forward when their is an overbias towards womans football.

Yes we are hosting the world cup, but at the end of the day it's secondary to mens. Like it or lump it, mens football gets more $ in TV rights and pay and rightly so.

When womens football reaches the level of interest of the EPL & Champions league, then i'll swallow my words.

Untill then, Mens football should be given preference to womens football. And i'm not saying give them nothing, i'm saying play the top levels in order.

Tiers:

Men PL

Men SL

Women PL

Men U21

Men U18

Women U21

Women U18

The rest.....

Genuine question but what did ghfa/mens actually benefit from the merge?

1) Much better coordination between mens and womens games. Previously fields would be reserved on Sunday for women, then if they cancelled/forfeited a game the field went unused, now the combined assoc can move a mens game there

2) More efficient admin shared across the whole comp, which means lower costs for everyone

3) Easier for all the club volunteers who had mens and womens meetings and two different systems to contend with. Now it's all one. Most clubs have mens & womens

4) Better coverage with refs as there's one source of games so when things change eg when it rains, the available refs are all utilised

5) Better coordination with the rep teams: Spirit and Koalas now merged. They share the same admin and facilities, so most of the reasons above also apply to them
